Water is our most precious and interconnected natural resource. It sustains all ecosystems, communities, and economies from local watersheds to the seas. It's vital to sustaining our health, safety, and the environments in which we live and work. Simply put, water is life.
The water resource on Berea College Forest has been a treasure since the beginnings of the forestry effort. We consider it among our highest priorities to protect the quality of the water supply. By following Kentucky’s Best Management Practices for timber harvests, we safeguard the reservoirs.
Visitors can recreate on this 150-acre lake, which provides plenty of opportunities to kayak, birdwatch, hike, fish, and enjoy the outdoors. Motorboating and swimming are prohibited.
